Our Mission

faircycle's mission is:

faircycle's mission is to collaborate with organizations in developing countries to create useful, elegant, and quality products that generate fair, living wages and shared abundance for everyone in the chain of their creation.

Who We Are

We're a young, ambitious, social enterprise startup entering the production phase for our first product - a fair trade, handmade, leather trouser strap.  See what it looks like above, or below.

We're passionate and excited about this project, and we need your help to make it happen.  Join us in making change, one revolution at a time, by visiting our kickstarter page!

Meet Our Partner Organization

We collaborate with the Prakriti Women's Collective, in Uttarakhand, India.  Through our partnership, we help to create meaningful work and economic independence.  Please visit the Bios page to meet Mrs. Seema Yadav and Mrs. Soma, who are leading production and will lead training as the project grows.

We value the idea of connecting people across geographic, socio-economic, linguistic and producer-consumer boundaries by introducing the people who make the products we offer and you use.

What's A Trouser Strap?

Ever gotten your nice new duds caught in the chain while cycling?  Or simply found grease on them at the end of your ride?  A trouser strap (also known as  a cycling pants band or strap) is designed to wrap around your ankle and keep your pants in check, protecting them.  This product pays for itself the first time you ride!

We make our strap with goat leather and harmonic steel (think slap bracelets), resulting in a stylish and durable strap that feels good and wraps around your ankle with the flick of a wrist.

"I love fairly traded products.  I love cycling - especially with this strap.  Keep it up!
" - Liz E.

"I used to be so frustrated... at least once a month, I'd arrive to work to find chain grease on my pants.  Now that problem's been solved!  Y'alls strap has paid for itself several times over.  I also love that it's a fair trade product, and I'm helping women workers across the world."
- Jessica C.

"Its refreshing to see such a young company hit the ball out of the park.  I'd settled for low quality, velcro pants bands before.  Now, after trying faircycle's, I'll never go back
." - Will G.
